This checklist
serves as an overview of your project. Also, please read our
Installation Guide which contains everything you should know
prior to measuring, templating, and installation of your new
countertops.
Requirements for Templating
1. Cabinets
must be properly and securely installed in their permanent location
prior to templating.
2. Countertop
material must be selected prior to templating.
3. Stove/cooktops
and sinks must be on site and available for accurate measurement
prior to templating.
4. Countertops
should be cleared before we arrive.
5.
Decision-maker must be on site during the templating process to
review specifics regarding the project.
6. Project
Contract and Installation Guide must be signed prior to templating.
Requirements for Installation
1. Demolition
of old countertops must be completed prior to arrival of installers.
This may be handled by the customer, or tear-out arrangements can be
discussed with Dutch Brothers Granite.
2. All
household items should be cleared from the cabinet below your sink.
If you have a cooktop, all the cooking utensils should be cleared
from the cabinet below.
3. Plumbing
and electrical must be disconnected prior to arrival of installers.
While we will disconnect a sink, you must be aware that the
installers are not responsible for disconnecting or reconnecting
drains, faucets, and electrical items. Dutch Brothers Granite
works hand-in-hand with plumbers in order to insure that your
plumbing is restored as soon as possible following installation.
4. Sinks,
faucets, and appliances such as stove/cooktop, dishwasher, etc. must
be on site prior to installation. Additional charges will be
incurred for return trips.
5. Vent hoods
and corbels must be installed prior to installation.
6. Customer
must acknowledge that wallpaper, cabinet, and sheetrock damage may
occur during tear-out and installation. In addition, not all
walls are square. Therefore, stone backsplash may not contour
to your walls.
7.
Installation of stone countertops creates dust. We will
attempt to contain the dust as best as our equipment allows, but we
are not responsible for any dust that may settle in other areas of
your home or business. We ask that you turn off your air
conditioner and any other forced air systems to prevent dust from
spreading to other areas. Due to the dust, additional work
such as drywall, painting, and wallpapering should be done after
installation. After installation is complete, we will make
every effort to leave your home or business as we found it.
8. The
decision-maker/jobsite coordinator must be present at the beginning
and end of the installation for walkthrough and signoff on the job.
This
information is only a basic checklist. Be sure to read the
Installation Guide prior to templating and installation.
